Tapovan Chinmaya Foundation is a public charitable trust dedicated to the education and uplift of children from underserved communities, rooted in the timeless tradition of the Indian tapovan.
In the India of long ago, learning happened in the tapovan — sacred groves where students lived alongside their teacher, where wisdom was transmitted not just through words but through example, observation, and shared life. There were no fees, no entrance tests, no walls. Only a teacher willing to teach, and a child eager to learn.
Tapovan Chinmaya Foundation was founded with a quiet conviction: that this spirit of learning — generous, holistic, and free of barrier — has a place in our world today, especially for the children whom modern systems too often leave behind.
We are a small organization with large intentions. Every classroom we run, every child we teach, is an attempt to honor that ancient promise.
